My name is Becky Beeler, and I am starting my 22nd year here at TuHS. I am just as excited about the start of this school year as I was when I started my teaching career.
In addition to teaching Advanced FreshmanEnglish, I am continuing my role as instructional coach. I am also the English Department Leader Co-Chair.
I am a graduate of the University of Portland, where I earned both my undergrad and Master's degree. Go Pilots! However, I need to warn everyone that I am also a die-hard Duck fan (My brother's middle name is Eugene).
Some of my interests include: reading, running, snowboarding, traveling, camping, scrapbooking, college football (GO DUCKS!), basketball and softball. I'm also addicted to CrossFit, too.
My husband, Mr Whitcher, is an amazing teacher in the district. He spent seven years at Twality Middle School, but now he is teaches at Hazelbrook. Almost nine years ago, we welcomed into this world a precious baby girl. Elle B is an absolute joy; it's a phenomenal thing to have all of one's dreams come to fruition. I just can't believe she will be turning nine in November!
As always, I'm looking forward to a great year of learning and laughter. I'm thankful for the best job in the world!
Did you know this about Mrs. Beeler?
My softball team won the Little League World Series in 1988 in Kalamazoo, MI.
I went skydiving with 8 seniors the day before they graduated.
I have run 3 marathons.
I have traveled all over Europe, and a few highlights include: watching the Running with the Bulls in Pamplona, Spain; attending a U2 concert in Dublin, Ireland, their hometown; visiting Auschwitz, in Oświęcim, Poland.
I graduated from Tigard High School, and when I started teaching at Tualatin, many of my former teachers became my colleagues :)
It was my idea for my husband, Mr. Whitcher, to write awesome math songs. I made him write a Sentence Pattern album. Check it out on iTunes. GO MEGAMATH!
